What is the Eureka Area United Fund?

For the past 60 years the Eureka Area United Fund (EAUF) has served the needs of residents of Eureka, Goodfield, Congerville, and Secor, IL, by raising funds to support community-based social service and development organizations. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, EAUF conducts an annual direct-mail campaign to collect funds that support community-based organizations.

EAUF always launches its annual fund-raising campaign in October, but the organization collects funds throughout the year to serve community needs.

This year we are expanding our online and social media presence in the hope that more individuals can become aware of the work that EAUF does and the vast array of needs that must be met.

    Why a United Fund?

EAUF operates on the "community chest" model whereby we conduct one multi-agency campaign. The benefits of this model are that we can: avoid many single campaigns; conserve volunteer time; provide a better distribution of the community dollar for priority needs; bring better management of contribution funds; allow agencies to spend more time on program rather than on fund-raising; save thousands of dollars in fund-raising costs; and strengthen existing programs and make opportunities for new services.

Since EAUF is not affiliated with United Way of America, 100 percent of all monies raised remain in our community serving needs of local residents.
